Microsoft Planner may be a planning application available on the Microsoft Office 365 platform. the appliance is out there to premium, business, and academic subscribers to Office 365.

On June 6, 2016, Microsoft made the appliance available for general release and rolled it out over the primary few weeks to eligible subscription plans.

Planner enables users and teams to make plans, assemble and assign tasks, share files, communicate and collaborate with other users, and receive progress updates via various means on the Office 365 platform. Each new plan created in Planner automatically creates a replacement Office 365 group.

With this app, companies can better facilitate teamwork, also as progress visibility and coordination. almost like other project board apps, Microsoft Planner is usually compared to organizational solutions like Trello, Slack, and Asana.

Once opened through the Office 365 app launcher, Microsoft Planner is broken into plans, tasks, and buckets (or groups of tasks). Creating an idea is like beginning a project which is formed from tasks organized into buckets, or categories. Each task is often assigned a deadline, label, and team member. Aligned closely with the Microsoft Groups feature, Planner generates new groups around projects that show every team member updated progress and what's being worked on. Teams also can initiate conversations around plans and opt-in to receive email notifications with project updates.



Microsoft The planner is often used for a variety of project management needs like addressing time management concerns, ensuring work is equally distributed, brainstorming new ideas, managing a marketing campaign, and preparing for a client meeting. Microsoft Planner is out there for subscription to users with an Outlook 365 enterprise, education, business essentials, or business premium plan.

Assigning tasks to multiple people: Previously a task can only be assigned to one person within the plan. Now you'll assign a task to as many of us as you wish. it's a feature that tops the list at planner.uservoice.com. As quite one user is often assigned to a task, every user that's assigned the task will see it on their My Tasks page.

Group and Filter options: Get deeper insights into your tasks to assist you meet key deadlines with the Group and Filter options in Planner. For e.g, you'll filter tasks supported due dates to urge a transparent picture of approaching deadlines and plan your work accordingly.

External (guest) user access: The new feature allows you to collaborate with not just your internal team but also with people that aren't your tenants like vendors and partners. Once a guest user has been granted access he/she can interact together with your plan. they will create and delete buckets and tasks, edit task fields, and edit the plan name.

Due to date notifications: Stay on top of your approaching deadlines with this feature. A planner user will receive an email notification with a quick summary of tasks due within the coming week.
